Poznan University of Medicine

Poznan University of Medical Sciences (PUMS) has its roots since 1519 and the Faculty of Pharmacy, Medicine and Dentistry were founded in 1919, 1920 and 1929 respectively. Some disruption took place during the Second World War but restoration took place in 1945. Restructuring of the faculties took place in 1992 and hence the teaching in English of medicine, dentistry and pharmacy was established. Poznan University of medical Sciences is a leading Polish Medical Centre with considerable experience and potential future development. It is a well equipped university for research in basic medical sciences, clinical investigations, diagnosis and treatment and its MD and Ph.D degrees enjoy international recognition. The teaching and research involves 1200 academics including 200 professors in collaboration with 5 Clinical Hospitals (2188 beds) as well as other city hospitals. Since 1950 it has awarded its degrees to 14,722 physicians, 5,040 dentists and 6,188 pharmacists.
